Margot Oitzinger, Mezzosoprano
Margot Oitzinger was born in Graz and studied singing at the University of Art in her hometown. She also participated in several mastercourses with Emma Kirkby and Peter Kooij. She is pricewinner of the International Johann-Sebastian -Bach competition in Leipzig 2008 and of the International baroque-singing competition in Chimay (Belgium) 2006.
A b-minor mass recording with the Dunedin Consort with her as alto soloist was published in may 2010. A recording with Haydn Arias with the LʻOrfeo Barockorchester and Nuria Rial was released in 2009. As a soloist she worked with ensembles such as Collegium Vocale Gent, the Concerto Copenhagen, LʻOrfeo Barockorchester, the Wiener Akademie, the Bach Consort, Le Concert Lorrain, the Dunedin Consort and sette voci. Her concert repertoire includes the alto roles in numerous oratorios, cantatas and operas mostly from the baroqueperiode and also contemporary music. Her concert and opera engagements included appearences at international festivals such as the Festival Crete Senesi under Philippe Herreweghe, Bachfest Leipzig, Bachfest Salzburg, the Händelfestival in Halle, le festival de musique de la Chaise Dieu or the Styriarte. Her performing schedule has taken her so far besides Austria to Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Bulgaria. Projects with Philippe Herreweghe, Hermann Max and Peter Kooij are planned for this and the following year. |
