Over Toccata

Toccata Music Management is een  impresariaat, dat zich met name, maar niet uitsluitend, richt op oude en vocale muziek. Het vertegenwoordigt solisten, dirigenten, ensembles, koren en orkesten die in de wereld van de oude muziek en in die van de vocale ensembles en koren nationaal en internationaal tot de top behoren. 

Kwaliteit is voor Toccata bepalend. Dat geldt zowel voor de artistieke kwaliteit van de musici die door ons vertegenwoordigd worden, als voor de werkwijze van Toccata zelf. Die laatste wordt gekenmerkt door een grote persoonlijke betrokkenheid, vanuit kennis van het repertoire en vanuit liefde voor de muziek. Het aantal artiesten en ensembles op de lijst is daarom bewust niet te omvangrijk, zodat er voor elk van hen voldoende tijd en aandacht beschikbaar is.

Toccata Music Management is in het najaar van 2010 opgezet door musicoloog Paul de Kok. Hij was voordien ruim vijftien jaar werkzaam in verschillende functies in de Nederlandse muziekwereld, achtereenvolgens als zakelijk leider van strijkersensemble Nieuw Sinfonietta Amsterdam en als programmamaker en concertprogammeur voor de AVRO (met concertseries voor Radio 4 met  het Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, het Radio Kamerorkest, het Radio Symfonie Orkest en het Groot Omroepkoor). Daarna als artistiek leider van het Residentie Orkest in Den Haag en, meest recent, als  artistiek manager ad interim van Holland Symfonia in Haarlem/Amsterdam. Vanuit zijn eerdere werkzaamheden in  de wereld van omroep en orkesten heeft Paul de Kok een groot artistiek netwerk opgebouwd van solisten en dirigenten, ensembles, koren en orkesten, concertorganisatoren en media.

Toccata Music Management is gevestigd in Hilversum en opereert eerst en vooral in de Benelux. Voor sommige van haar musici is het impresariaat evenwel wereldwijd actief.

Toccata Music Management is a impresario that specialises in early music and vocal music. Toccata represents soloists, ensembles, choirs and orchestras that are nationally and internationally recognised.

Quality is important for Toccata. The artistic quality of the musicians we represent, as well as the quality of our management, is excellent.  Through Toccata’s love of music and extensive knowledge of the repertoire, its very personal involvement is special.  The select number of artists and ensembles insures that everyone receives ample time and attention.

Toccata Music Management was created by the musicologist Paul de Kok in the autumn of 2010.  For more than fifteen years, Paul has held various positions throughout the Dutch music world, including Financial Director of the New Sinfonietta Amsterdam and the programmer for the AVRO radio station (including concert series for the Radio Chamber Orchestra, the Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Radio Choir).  He was also the Artistic Director of the Hague Symphony Orchestra and, most recently, the interim Artistic Manager of the Holland Sinfonia in Haarlem/Amsterdam.  Paul’s extensive background in the arts has made it possible for him to build an impressive network of musicians, concert organisations and media.

Toccata Music Management is based in Hilversum and operates primarily within the Benelux. Toccata represents a number of its musicians world-wide.
